System Requirements

Processor, Memory:

The recommended minimum specification for running the WindFarmer Base with Optimiser, Turbulence, Electrical and Finance Modules is a current CPU running at 2 GHz with 1 GB of RAM on board.  For large or complex projects a Quad-Core CPU and 3 GB of RAM is recommended.

 

Graphics and Screen Resolution:

The monitor resolution will need to be 1024 x 768 or higher to avoid some panels not being shown fully on the screen.  A graphics card with 256 MB dedicated memory is recommended. The graphics card and its driver should support OpenGL.  Please ensure that you have a recent driver installed.

 

Disk space:

Depending on the size of site data files being analysed, users should have between 2 GB and 4 GB free hard disk space. Use of the MCP+ Module is likely to require several GB of storage for raw data and WindFarmer data files.

 

Ports:

A USB port is required for the software authentication device (dongle).

 

Operating System:

Microsoft Windows XP^TM, Windows Vista^TM and Windows 7^TM are supported in either 32 or 64 bit versions. We recommend Windows 7^TM.

 

Office software package:

Minimum specification is Microsoft Office 2003^TM plus compatibility pack.  We recommend Microsoft Office 2007^TM or Microsoft Office 2010^TM.
