CONFERENCE PROGRAM

Even though Germany’s first offshore wind farm, alpha ventus, opened last year, the FINO research platforms have been delivering information to help facilitate the project since 2003, when the FINO 1 platform opened. As well as delivering data crucial to the development of alpha ventus, the platforms have a significant role to play in supporting future offshore development, both in Germany and the industry as a whole. The ongoing information that they supply will aid thorough understanding of the opportunities and risks related to the development and operational challenges for offshore wind farms, as well as monitoring their effects on the environment.
